Mental Healthcare Plans
A Mental Health Care Plan is a document your GP can create to help you claim Medicare rebates for psychological therapy.
-
Visit your GP, who will assess whether you are eligible and would benefit from psychological therapy supported by a Mental Health Care Plan. When booking your appointment, be sure to ask for a longer appointment, as your doctor will need time to ask questions and complete the plan with you.
-
With a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 10 appointments with a psychologist per year. The plan will cover the first 6 sessions, after which your psychologist will let you know if you need to return to your doctor for a review of the plan and a new referral.
-
No. As we are not a bulk billing clinic, you will pay the full session fee upfront, and we will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to Medicare for your rebate.
-
